We are sorry to report the death last week of Allan Tuckwell.
Allan was an Oxfordshire man who joined the Oxfordshire Constabulary (now Thames Valley Police) in 1965, moving to Burford in 1969. He policed the area from then until his retirement in 1995. He was an active member of the community, a keen gardener and a pillar of the bowls club.

We are told that Allan did a great deal of good work in the community which he was much too modest to tell us about in our interview with him. He will be much missed by his family and his many friends.
