The Burford Festival is hosting a special event at 7pm on 4 February when there will be an opportunity to hear two distinguished historians, Dominic Sandbrook and Sir Anthony Seldon, in discussion at Burford School.
Dominic Sandbrook is best known as the author of history books for both adults and children as well as for presenting BBC television and radio series including the BBC series Let Us Entertain You: How British Popular Culture Conquered the World and Strange Days: Cold War Britain. Dominic also hosts the highly informative and entertaining The Rest is History podcast with fellow historian Tom Holland. He has been a keen observer of the recent presidential election in the USA.
Sir Anthony has written or edited over 50 books including best-selling studies of the last four Prime Ministers of Great Britain. He is the historian of Downing Street, regularly appearing on television, radio and in the press.
They will be discussing several key historical and political themes as well as their careers as academic historians, with an opportunity for a Q&A session at the end of the talk. This promises to be a fantastic evening and offers a brilliant opportunity to hear from one of the hosts of the world's most popular history podcast Dominic and best selling author Sir Anthony.
